Ladies That Lift – Clothes Swap on Sunday 29th July from 1pm to 3pm
Calling all ladies! Coach Miller is organising a little event for you to get rid of some of your old gear in exchange for some slightly used new gear! Dig into your closets and bring all those items you know you’ll never wear, and while you’re at it bring some nibbles and treats to make a chill event out of it!
Competition Time – Strength in Depth!
So Coach Misty has paired all of our athletes in the best way possible to fit schedules and abilities, which is available on the private Facebook members group. If you haven’t seen this or don’t have access to it just let one of us know and we’ll sort it out for you! This workout is going to be scheduled into the normal class programming on July 26th which is NEXT THURSDAY! Be sure to come into class that day even if you aren’t registered for the competition to get a taste of what you’re missing out on!
As a reminder here is some of the key info on the dates that we are working to for the qualifiers
1. Qualifier 1- Individual event: is announced 1 June and submission cut off is 27 June.
2. Qualifier 2- Pairs: announced 5 July, have till 5 Aug to submit
3. Qualifier 3- Teams of 4: Announced 9 Aug and have till 9 Sep
4. Final if we get in :-): 3rd and 4th of November in Bath.
Yoga for Athletes, Saturday 12.30-1.30pm
This week’s Focus: Move Your Spine
Forward folds and backbends are fundamental movements in yoga, and many other types of mobility routine or stretching programmes and can be performed in a variety of ways, standing up, seated, lying down. Correct alignment of the spine is essential here, to ensure that the right muscles are recruited to perform the movement or posture.
In Saturday’s class, you’ll learn a few simple yet effective ways to lengthen your hamstrings and spine by practising forward folds. We will also be practising a few of the more gentle backbends with our main focus being to extend from the upper back (thoracic spine), while keeping the lower back neutral.
